The MUNPARLAS Library Association is pleased to invite you and your paraprofessional staff to attend a seminar on “Information Analysis Through Abstracting and Indexing of Microdocuments in the Library”. This will be on October 9, 2009 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Olivarez College along Dr. Arcadio Santos Ave. (formerly Sucat Road) in Parañaque City.
The objectives of the seminar are as follows:
1. To understand the concepts of information analysis through abstracting and indexing.
2. To describe the principles and procedures in making different types of abstracts and indexes.
3. To apply the knowledge acquired through practical activities.
4. To recognize the role of abstracting and indexing in information access and retrieval.
5. To develop skills for abstracting and indexing in both manual and automated system.
The expected participants are librarians, library administrators, students of Library and Information Science, information specialists and other library personnel. In process with the PRC is the application of MUNPARLAS for CPE credit units which will benefit professional librarians and facilitate their renewal of licenses.
The seminar fee is seven hundred fifty pesos (P 750. 00) inclusive of seminar fee, membership fee, speakers’ honoraria, handouts, certificate of participation, snacks and lunch.
